MEMORIAL FOR OUR LITTLE ANGEL PUPPY ARRIELLA

Arriella is a Deaf and visually impaired 9 week old Aussie mix that arrived with CODA from Dallas TX on Saturday May15th.
Arriellais is in our Special Needs Foster Home in Indianapolis where she will get the special care
and training that she will need to lead a full and happy life. This particular Foster Home has the most experience with dogs that are both
Deaf and Blind or extremely visually impaired.
Arriella passed the "Doggy IQ" test quickly at her new foster home where she figured out the "doggie door" in the " high IQ" range:)

Arriella was immediately taken to the foster homes Veterinarian upon arrival because a cyst like swelling
was found on the incision mark from the pediatric spay which the rescue in Dallas TX had done before Arriella arrived in our care.
CODA does not believe in pediatric spay and neuters as we believe the research indicates a pattern of health problems
related to pediatric spay and neuter surgeries so we will keep a puppy in rescue longer if needed
in order to safely spay or neuter them at a more appropriate age of at least 16 weeks.
We are watching Arriella's cyst closely and she is on medication .

UPDATE: Arriella's cyst has improved greatly and we expect her to have no further problems.

Arriella's Foster Mom reports she has plenty of puppy energy
and a short attention span like any typical puppy and she seems to be able to get around well with a functional level of sight.
Arriella is deaf but she is already learning various signs and is pretty much house broken she is also crate trained.

We are seeking a home for Arriella with a male dog of similar breed that is friendly and submissive
We are also seeking a home that will train Arriella in sign language

and to help us ensure she see's an eye specialist and receives all her vaccinations and other medical care she will need in relation to the cyst
