Blake is a deaf Bull Terrier-Collie mix who was saved at 5 weeks old
from Scioto County Dog Pound in Ohio after the shelter gassed his mother to death and had planned on euthanizing Blake also.
(Scioto Pound no longer gasses dogs they use humane euthanasia)

Blake turned a year old in November of 2004
Blake knows signs for "sit", "lay", "no", "give me paw" " give kisses" ,"stay" and many other signs
Blake is a very intelligent little guy who will watch you for his signs so he knows what you want him to do.

Blake has advanced to sign sentences and multiple sign commands and will go out and round up
the other deaf dogs and puppies when we ask him to

Blake is the official puppy sitter at his foster home. He teaches new incoming dogs and puppies how to have fun &
play nicely with other dogs and to play with dog toys with his favorite game, "tug of war"

Blake is housebroken and has excellent house manners.
Blake is never crated here in rescue now that's he's grown into a well behaved young man!

He loves to play catch with his stuffy toys and is getting really good at catching and he also loves to play tug of war with humans or other dogs.
He and our Blind Rescue Great Dane Zeus love to play tug of war together with their figure eight rope toy.!

Blake is also housebroken and crate trained
Blake has excellent house manners !
Blake is neutered and up to date on all his shots
Blake has the most gorgeous blue eyes and his vision is excellent

Blake is wonderful with children and particularly likes male children
Blake goes into a total bodywag when he meets children
Blake has no "startle reflex" when awoken from a deep sleep
Blake has no fear of vaccum cleaners and will even allow his foster mom to vacuum him during the summer
Shedding months.
Blake loves to play outdoors and cold weather is his favorite time of year
Blake adores playing in the snow

We are seeking a home for Blake that has the following requirements:

Another dog for Blake to socialize with and have a playmate
Blake would do well with a senior dog or any easy going dog
Blake would not do well with very high energy breeds that like to wrestle and roll when they play
Only special needs experienced homes will be considered for adoption of Blake
Safe secure FENCED play area required for Blake
Blake does well with children of any age even babies and toddlers
Blake is a very loving , easy going, well mannered dog

Blake is very happy to have his own family after 3 years of waiting in rescue for the perfect home
Blake will be living in Medina Ohio with his new family and his fursister Sierra

All of us here at CODA will miss Blake dearly, as he was such a help to us while he was here, educating the general public
about what wonderful, intelligent, loving family pets deaf dogs can be!
He's an amazing dog who so wanted a little boy of his own and now he has what he's always wanted and so dearly deserved
