DAFNI

Dafni is a Deaf Catahoula Leopard Dog /Aussie mix
Dafni is 14 weeks old.
We rescued Dafni after being contacted by the Lawrence County Humane Society
Dafni's owners-father was threatening to shoot Daphni if she wasn't moved out of the owners home by the weekend of Sept 25th 2004 so we agreed to take Dafni into our program for Deaf Dogs.
Dafni is a very sweet and smart little girl who is already doing very well on her "potty training" skills.!
Dafni's favorite game is chasing her tail and she loves to play with her stuffy toys too.
Dafni also loves to play "tug of war" with our rescue dog Blake

Dafni also enjoyed a recent "play date" with Shea our recently adopted Deaf Aussie Puppy at Shea's new home
(That's Shea with the gorgeous blue eyes on the right hand side of the photo in the photo to the right above)

Dafni has had her first and second set of puppy shots and has been fecal checked
and heartworm tested and tested negative on both tests.

Dafni is a very healthy and happy well adjusted puppy.

Dafni loves to give you kisses when you pick her up and hold her.

Dafni keeps herself occupied happily playing with her stuffy toys and chew treats and now that she is getting a little bigger
Dafni loves to have play sessions outside with Blake and Wonder her foster brothers here in rescue.
Dafni can hold her own with the boys of course they are both extra gentle and careful with her because
they know she's a little baby but Dafni isn't shy around them and loves to jump on them and play with them
Blake is getting his due playing with Dafni who's in that nippy puppy stage ( Blake was a nippy puppy when he first arrived at CODA and nipped Zeus and the other resident dogs) but rolls over on his back and lets her nip away at him and he plays nicely with her as he was taught by Zeus when he was just a little nippy puppy himself:)

Dafni will be adopted on a mandatory Spay contract which legally requires the adopter to have Dafni
spayed between 4-5 months of age and to supply CODA with written proof of Spay from the Veterinarian that does the spay surgery

Dafni is a totally adorable, lovable well adjusted and house broken puppy who's been here with us in rescue
Since she was about 5 weeks old so has been well socialized and trained and gets along with other dogs
and cats but still likes to chase the cats just to see them run as any normal herding breed puppy would do at this age.
The cats that live here in rescue are pretty well versed at training our canine puppies to be nice to kitties:)

ADOPTED

Dafni has been adopted by a wonderful new mom who's been a special education teacher
until she recently retired due to a medical disability so she will have plenty of time to spoil Dafni and
work with Dafni's special needs to ensure Dafni always stays as happy and loving as she is now!
Dafni went home to her new Mom on 2/11/04
Just in time for Valentine's day:)
UPDATE 3/31/05
A few days after her adoption Dafni presented with seizures after eating some commercial dog snacks
Once the snacks were removed from her diet her new mom's report she is doing well
The snacks contained the preservative BHT
Please keep our little Dafni in your prayers in hopes that she will continue to live seizure free

Dafni's adoption fee is $175.00
Fenced in yard is mandatory
Deaf dog experienced home is prefered but not mandatory.
Home experienced with herding breed dogs is preferred also
