FAITH

Faith is an 11 month-old Severely Visually Impaired Catahoula Leopard Dog
We named her "Faith" because the IMOM saying is "Blind Dogs See with their Hearts" and since seeing with your heart and not your eyes is "Faith" , we named her "Faith"
Faith arrived at CODA on February 22nd 2004. We saved Faith from Anderson SC kill shelter.

Faith does have some very limited vision out of the corners of her eyes if she turns her head a certain way which
may accounts for Faith moving in circles as she gets around
Faith is a typical , happy puppy though as evidenced by her being caught with a shoe getting ready to chew on it in the photo below

Faith is calming down now that she is almost a year old, and is a very sweet and loving puppy.
Faith loves to give kisses and to be held and cuddled.

Faith recently attended a special training program to help her overcome some of her issues and her ability to walk nicely on a leash has improved greatly since attending the "Dog Training Camp in WA.

Faith loved her special human in her first WA foster home Tess who helped Faith become a loving dog when Faith was in rescue the first time in a WA foster home before a failed adoption.

Faith was recently moved to a new foster home in WA because Faith injured a baby crea at her foster home
The adult llama's were becoming upset by Faith's natural herding instincts so Faith needed to be moved to a new foster home
We will not consider a home for Faith that has livestock present

Faith is currently in a special needs experienced Foster Home in Kent WA
Pictured below is Faith with her foster sister CJ the deaf Aussie

Faith's current foster home has children aged 13,11,12 and 10 years old and Faith is wonderful with the children
There is also a Macaw in her foster home and she is interested but doing fine with the Macaw
Faith is housebroken and asking to go out when she needs to and is working on her leash manners.
Faith is also doing well in meeting new strange dogs and her foster parents are working more on teaching
Faith to "be calm" when around other strange dogs.
We are seeking a very special home for Faith who will work with her special needs and continue her training
UPDATE 6/4/05
Faith enjoyed her first RV outing for the Labor Day weekend with her foster family.
Faith was a good girl and had a great time playing with other dogs in her foster parents RV'ing Group
Faith made a new friend "Christen" The Bully Boy

Faith slept as soundly as the kids after a hard day of camping and playing

Faith is sure gorgeous now that she's filled out and reached a year old

We are seeking a home for Faith that has the following requirements:

A home with only one other dog or no other dogs so she can receive the individual attention she deserves
Safe, securely fenced play area
Faith loves children and is good with them she especially likes girls
so homes with children over 10 years old will be considered for Faith
A special person who is willing to work with Faith to re-build her trust and confidence and is willing to continue her obedience training and socialization training with other dogs
A home with experience raising a special needs Dog
