Tasha

Tasha is a Merle Female AKC registered Great Dane
She is fully sighted and hears fine.
Tasha is a BIG girl who's neck measures 22" around!
We rescued Tasha from Scioto Dog Pound in Ohio
Tasha is 4 years old and weighs 150 lbs
Tasha is spayed and up to date on all of her vaccinations
Tasha became very ill the day after we rescued her from the shelter (1/30/05)

Tasha was rushed to the closest Vet to her foster home and it was found that Tasha
has a severe upper respitory infection and also has a urinary tract infection
Tasha scared the living daylights out of us when she wouldn't stand up, eat,
or go outside at all the day after she arrived at her foster home.

Tasha received a B-12 Shot today along with starting on two antibiotics to handle her infections.

Tasha is about 20 lbs overweight and has already started her low calorie diet to get her into good shape.

Tasha is getting along fine with the other dogs in her foster home but does not seem to like the resident kitty.

Tasha will be available for adoption once she is in good health.

Tasha is a very loving girl

UPDATE: 2/3/05
Tasha is still very ill from the upper respitory infection and will be returning for a follow up vet visit.
Tasha's foster family is doing everything they possibly can to make Tasha comfortable
Tasha's breathing is very labored and she is having a lot of nasal discharge and discharge from her eyes.
So please everyone keep Tasha in your prayers
We will have updated better photo's of Tasha once she's feeling better.

UPDATE 2/6/05
Tasha is feeling much better today she started on a new stronger antibiotic two days agao as her upper respitory infection
worsened into pneumonia. The new antibiotic seems to be helping Tasha immensly.
Tasha's foster parents report that Tasha finally ate a good amount of food today and wanted seconds and Tasha
has been getting up and moving around and going out to potty.
Tasha's urinary tract infection has also drastically improved and Tasha is having no problems anymore
holding her urine and is asking to go out when she has to urinate.
Tasha's foster parents are quickly falling in love with our big lovable girl.

UPDATE 2/11/07
Tasha went back to the vet today for another B-12 shot and more antibiotics
Tasha is doing better but still has a way to go before completely being healthy
Tasha is becoming more loving and attentive with her foster parents since she is feeling better.
We also had Tasha heartworm tested today and will know the results in a few days.
Tasha ate "dog food" for the first time this evening after returning home from the vets.

UDATE 2/17/05
Tasha is feeling much better now and should be ready for adoption shortly
We are now taking applications on Tasha. Tasha lost 9 lbs since coming into rescue and looks
so much better now.
Just another 10 lbs to go and Tasha will be the correct weight
for her size.
Now that Tasha is feeling better she loves to go for rides in the car with her foster Dad.

UPDATE 2/22/05

Tasha returned to the Vet yesterday as there was a strong odor emitting from her body and she had a sore
developing on her rear end she was chewing obsessively.
Tasha needed to have her anal glands expressed and needed more medication to prevent
an abscess of her gland.
She is feeling much better today!

UPDATE 3/30/05
Tasha has become quite the spoiled Princess in her foster home
Tasha is feeling great and is ready for adoption
Tasha has lost some weight and now weighs 150 lbs
Tasha now enjoys jogging around the yard and playing with stuffy toys and finding the best spot in the house to nap

Tasha has been adopted by a wonderful new Mom who fostered Tasha for us temporarily while
Tasha's foster parents were on vacation recently. Tasha fit in well with the other Great Danes and since Tasha
does not do well with cats or smaller dogs we waived Tasha's adoption fee so that Tasha could have
a wonderful home where she will do well with only other Great Danes as companions.
Tasha will be permanently living at Dane Club Med with 4 other Great Danes and lots of room
to run and play in a safely fenced huge yard.Tasha's new Mom had not planned on adding another dane to the family
but she fell in love with Tasha and Tasha with her:)
