ZOE

Zoe is a deaf Spitz mix
We rescued Zoe from the Coshocton Ohio Animal Shelter
Zoe entered rescue with C.O.D.A. on11/27/06
Zoe had a companion dog that was left at the shelter with her.
Her companion dog was named Lucy
A wonderful couple here in Cleveland Ohio who became aware of Zoe through
our IMOM forum page for Diamond the Great Dane
felt bad knowing that Lucy would be left at the shelter all alone once we
rescued Zoe
Lucy is very bonded to Zoe and vise versa
This wonderful couple decided to contact the shelter and make arrangments
to adopt Lucy from the shelter
CODA arranged for Lucy to drive up to Cleveland with Zoe to the safety of
her new parents arms
Here is a photo of Zoe and Lucy arriving in Cleveland at Gateway Animal Clinic
for their first exams
Zoe and Lucy send special thanks to Chuck LaQuatra ( Adopted Deaf Dane Scrappy's
Dad:)
For picking them both up and transporting them safely to Cleveland Ohio
That's Scrappy's Dad on the left holding Zoe, and Lucy's new Dad on the right
Zoe had her first exam with Dr. Brian immediately upon arrival in Cleveland
Zoe was heartworm tested and tested negative
Zoe is up to date on all her vaccinations and is already spayed
Zoe is 3 years old, in good health and a very sweet and loving dog
Zoe is deaf
Zoe is housebroken and is wonderful with children
After Zoe's Vet exam she took a ride to CODA's main facility for a really
good bath and de- flea-ing
Zoe was a perfect angel for her bath and seemed to quite enjoy getting those
biting little fleas removed
She gave our Director lots of kisses while she was bathed and dried and combed
out
After Zoe was all cleaned up, flea free and smelling great she was loaded
into the CODA van for her ride to her
new anxiously awaiting foster home in Northfield Ohio
The children in Zoe's foster home were anxiously awaiting her arrival
Zoe loved all the attention and belly rubs Joanna and David gave her when
they met
Zoe was tested with the CODA cats at our main facility and did wonderfully
with them
Zoe was also tested with other dogs and was fine with everyone
Zoe will share her foster home with the resident elderly Pug named appropriately
Pugs
Zoe walks nicely on a leash
Zoe is a really wonderful dog with no issues it appears
How someone could dump off such a wonderful dog in a shelter is beyond us
Zoe sends special thanks to Katrina Mc Ginnis in CA who generously sponsored
Zoe's shelter pull fee's
and paid for Zoe's first vet exam which cost $70 with her flea meds and antibiotics
and heartworm testing
Katrina is a board member of the newly formed D2Care
a nonprofit 501 C3 advocacy and educational resource for Deaf Dogs
Zoe also owes special thanks to her new foster family in Northfield Ohio
The foster family lost their family boxer very suddenly on Thanksgiving day
to an inoperable tumor
So their hearts were broken after loosing their wonderful rescued Boxer named
Oscar
They were still willing to open their hearts and their home so that Zoe would
have a safe place to live in order for CODA
to get Zoe safely out of the shelter.
Our foster homes are always willing to go above and beyond for a special needs
dog in a shelter needing rescue
Zoe and Lucy also sends lots of love and kisses to Tammy from the Coshocton
Shelter for going above and beyond
to help Zoe and Lucy get safely to CODA and start their new lives!
UPDATE 2/13/07

go out.
Zoe very much loves to be by the side of her humans and Zoe rides like a total
angel in cars
Zoe loves to go to Petsmart and just wags her tail at everyone she meets.
Zoe is a very happy, well adjusted, intelligent and well behaved dog
Zoe is the perfect companion pet and is definately a great dog with no behavioural
issues
Zoe is healthy, active, spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations and ready
for her own forever home

wonderful dog that we can't believe she hasn't
had any qualified applications yet.

This girl really has no issues whatsoever!
Zoe recently enjoyed drying herself off after a bath. Spooky the cat stood
